Clean Houseplant Leaves with Banana Skins

Houseplants can really brighten your home. A plant in the right position can change a drab corner into a beautiful place to sit. Even plastic plants can help decorate your house, but plastic plants do not have quite the same effect a real plant can have on your room.

If you do decide to have live plants in your house, you have to make sure to take care of them constantly or they will make the room look worse rather than making it look better. Plants in locations where they will get plenty of sunlight tend to grow better, but you can find some that do not need as much sun as others. What really makes most plants that you will bring into your house is the look of the leaves. If the leaves are in good shape, the plant will look good. Make sure to keep the leaves looking good. That means that if the leaves fall on the floor, pick them up right away to keep the plant looking healthy and your floor looking clean.

Another thing that you should be aware of is that leaves in your house will collect dust just like anything else. While you can clean the dust off using cloths or clean paintbrushes, something that works even better is a banana skin. If you wipe the leaves with the soft inside of the banana skin, it will not only remove the dust, but will actually leave your leaves shiner than before. As an added bonus, the smell from the banana skin will stick to the leaves of the plant, which will add a great, fresh smell to your home.
